Course content

This course for German as a foreign language will thoroughly prepare you for the B2 Goethe certificate. You will focus on practising the four language competencies which are tested in the examination and become familiar with the specific requirements of this German diploma:

– Reading : you read a variety of texts from modern media , such as advertisements, catalogue extracts , nonfiction texts, commentaries, reviews and reports in German, and you will tackle a range of tasks. You will insert missing words in a written text.
– Listening: you listen to conversations and telephone calls, then correct or complete what you have heard and put statements in the correct order. You also listen to an interview on a current, social topic and complete tasks related to it.
– Writing: you respond in writing to a newspaper article and correct a letter.
– Speaking: you introduce yourself to you speaking partners (including native speakers), take a position on a topical issue and negotiate verbally with an exam partner in German.

– you can understand the exact meaning of demanding texts on familiar topics and the general meaning of texts on unfamiliar topics.
– you can write texts on familiar topics in German, as well as personal letters.
– you have a substantial basis of everyday vocabulary and the fundamental structures of German grammar.
