Frequently asked questions about advice and booking

Which course fits my goals and everyday schedule?

Tell us which language you would like to learn, what you need it for and which days you are available. We will help you choose between group courses, private lessons and e-learning. Personal advice is free and without obligation. You can book an appointment with Irene or Tobias directly above.

When does the next course start, and are evening classes available?

You can find current start dates and lesson times in the course finder under each offer. If none of the times suit you, tell us the language, your approximate level and your availability. We will check whether an existing course fits or whether we can arrange a new course at suitable times. This depends, among other things, on demand and teacher availability. For private lessons, you agree the schedule individually with your teacher.

How do I find my level, and what if I have trouble with the placement test?

Our free placement assessment helps you find the right starting point. You can also contact us without a test result. If the test or an audio task does not work, or you have not received your assessment, tell us the language, approximately when you took the test and what happened.

Can I learn online or attend lessons in person?

Group and private courses are available live online. In-person group courses take place at partner schools in Zurich; the exact teaching address is shown with each offer. Private lessons are available at your home or company anywhere in Switzerland. Please tell us your preferred location when you enquire.

How much does my course cost, and are materials and registration included?

The price depends on the course format and duration. The course finder shows the price of each offer, and you will see the total before booking. For group courses, the stated registration fee is added; it is already included in the private-course booking examples. Learning materials can be purchased separately. Tell us which course you are interested in if you would like us to clarify the exact costs.

Can I try a lesson first?

Yes, if a suitable time and place are available. Trial lessons in groups are free: a maximum of two per person, one per course. A private trial lesson lasts 45 minutes and costs CHF 50 online or CHF 100 in person. If you subsequently book at least ten lessons, this amount is credited in full. Tell us which course you would like to try.

Can I pay in instalments or by invoice?

You can pay in instalments through HeyLight. We cover the financing costs. The available instalments depend on the amount and are shown at checkout. Payment by invoice is available for orders of CHF 1,200 or more. For smaller amounts, you can request it for your employer. You can enter a separate company billing address when booking; this does not automatically change the payment method.

How do I enrol, and what should I do if booking or payment does not work?

You can book your course directly in the online shop. If the basket, a voucher or payment does not work, tell us the course, the payment method you selected and the error message shown. If you are unsure whether a payment went through, we will first check with you whether a booking already exists.

I have booked, but I am missing the access link or course-start information. What should I do?

Please also check your spam folder and the email address you used to book. The booking confirmation and information about the course start are sent separately. If anything is missing, send us the course name, start date and your order number if you have it. You can also use the form above for questions about an ongoing course.

Will I receive a certificate after the course?

Yes. You receive your personal Schneider course certificate free of charge. It documents your course and the content covered. If you need a specific qualification for university, work or an authority, tell us which exam or certificate is required so that we can advise you on suitable preparation.

Do you also offer courses for children and teenagers?

Yes. We offer language courses and tutoring for children and teenagers. Groups meet online; private lessons are available online or at your home. Tell us the learner’s age, language, goal and possible times so that we can recommend a suitable option.
