Course content

In this German course for German as a foreign language you will cover the following topics:
– interpret advice, speeches, magazine contributions, dictionary entries, reports and prose in German
– understand expert talks, conversations and radio reports
– write formal and personal letters and emails, informative texts and a detective story
– hold consultation talks in German, take part in surveys, give short presentations

Goals

This German course enables you to achieve the following aims and skills:
– you can express yourself spontaneously and fluently in German without obviously having to search for words.
– you can understand a wide spectrum of long, demanding texts, as well as their implicit meaning.
– you can write in a clear and well-structured way, and present your view in detail. You can write about complex issues in letters, essays or reports and highlight the most important aspects.
– you can use the language effectively and flexibly in social and business life or in education and studies.
– you have both a clearly extensive vocabulary and a sound, in-depth knowledge of German grammar.
– you can express your views on complex issues in a way that is clear, detailed and well-structured, using different cohesive devises appropriately.
– you know a great deal about Switzerland and other German-speaking countries, as well as their people, and feel comfortable interacting with native speakers.
