Course information
Speak Swiss German without inhibitions – in this course, aimed at those with excellent knowledge of High German (at least B2 or C1 level) the focus is on speaking and pronunciation. You will also become familiar with several useful rules that will give you confidence when speaking. Suitable for people who already understand a great deal of Swiss German, but have not yet used the dialect regularly when speaking and would like to make rapid progress.
Thanks to an average of only 3–4 participants, you get to speak frequently in this Online-Group and benefit from rapid learning progress.

This group course is already going ahead with 2 participants. This is possible without extra charge thanks to a flexible linear adjustment of the lesson length according to the principle: the fewer the number of participants, the more intensive the learning; the more participants, the longer the lesson.
The lesson duration is adjusted proportionally to the number of participants and is complemented through self-study as follows:
6–8 participants: 120 mins.
4–5 participants: 90 mins. + self study
2–3 participants: 60 mins + self study
The achievable learning goal is rated equally for all these options.

This course is aimed at those with excellent knowledge of High German who have reached at least a B2 or C1 High German level or for native German speakers.
Course content
In this course, you will deepen your already good passive knowledge of Swiss German and learn to speak the Zurich/Northern Swiss dialect. The topics of the course are based on common everyday themes, such as:
– Current topics from the news
– Money and workplace
– Leisure, household
– Brief Swiss history, legends
– Culture, cinema, theater
– Fitness
– Wishes, dreams, assumptions
Additionally, the topics covered can also be tailored to the wishes and needs of the participants.
Goals
This course allows you to achieve the following goals and skills:
– You can speak the Zurich/Northern Swiss variant of Swiss German.
– You have a considerable vocabulary and many practical rules.
– You are familiar with many typical Swiss expressions and idioms.
– You can distinguish between various Swiss dialects.
– You have important information about Switzerland and are familiar with customs and traditions.
